ByrneWallace advises on fundraising worth over €100 million
ByrneWallace advised in transactions representing around a quarter of the total funds raised by Irish SMEs in the first nine months of 2015, the corporate law firm has said.
Figures published by the Irish Venture Capital Association (IVCA) show that Irish SMEs raised €415 million during the first nine months of the year, an increase of 32 per cent on the same period last year.
ByrneWallace says it advised in transactions representing more than €100 million during this period, including three transactions which are ranked among the top ten largest fundraising for 2015 to date.
These transactions were for Altan Pharma at €41.3 million, 3D4Medical at €15 million and Heart Metabolics at €13.5 million.
Companies for whom the firm acted for during Q1-Q3 2015 are predominantly from the life sciences and business and enterprise software sectors, and included fundraisings for Neuromod, Swrve,Terminal Four and Profector Life Sciences.
In addition to acting for investee companies, the firm has also acted for a number of investors, including US investor SAIG on a nearly $6 million investment in Galway medical device company NeoSurgical.
The firm said its fundraising activity continues to be strong during Q4 2015.
For example, the firm advised Clavis Insight, a leading provider of eCommerce store analytics for global consumer goods brands, on a $20 million equity investment by private equity firm Accel-KKR and existing investors.
