Cahir O’Higgins jailed for 27 months

Disgraced solicitor Cahir O’Higgins has been sentenced to 27 months’ imprisonment for theft and attempting to pervert the court of justice.
O’Higgins, 49, is already serving a prison sentence in connection with an assault on another solicitor.
He was sentenced in Dublin Circuit Criminal Court yesterday after being found guilty last week of stealing €400 from a client.
Judge Martin Nolan backdated the 27-month sentence to 21 October, to run concurrently with his current imprisonment.
