London-based barrister Caoilfhionn Gallagher, who hails from Dublin, will be appointed Queen’s Counsel in a ceremony at Westminster Hall in February.

The Lord Chancellor will present Ms Gallagher with her Letters Patent from Her Majesty The Queen on 13 February 2017.

Ms Gallagher, who comes from Portmarnock, studied law at University College Dublin and trained at the King’s Inns.

She has been with Doughty Street Chambers in London since 2005.

Last year, Ms Gallagher was recognised as a rising star in human rights law at the 2016 Chambers UK Bar Awards.

Doughty Street Chambers said it was “thrilled and proud” by the news of Ms Gallagher’s appointment.
