Caoimhe Grogan named new chairperson of disAbility Legal Network
Caoimhe Grogan has been appointed as chairperson of the disAbility Legal Network.
The disAbility Legal Network was founded by Jane Barrett in 2021 – the first network of its kind in Ireland. It is a platform for people with disabilities from all corners of the legal profession to come together and raise awareness of the challenges and opportunities faced by people with disabilities in the profession along with the areas where progress is needed.
Ms Grogan is a newly qualified solicitor in the employment practice group in A&L Goodbody LLP.
She said: “It will no doubt be a juggling act in balancing this external commitment with my role as a solicitor with a visual impairment and the challenges that can bring.
“However, I am very eager to use this position to achieve tangible outcomes for people with disabilities in the profession and will of course be fully supported by the Committee of the Network along with my colleagues in this endeavour.”
Reinforcing its commitment to a more inclusive legal sector, the Law Society of Ireland has now signed up to the disAbility Legal Network Pledge, becoming an ally of the network.
