Carson McDowell launches charity partnership with Air Ambulance NI
Belfast-based Carson McDowell has launched a year-long partnership with Air Ambulance Northern Ireland.
The charity provides helicopter emergency medical service for the region dedicated to responding to severe trauma and medical emergencies in Northern Ireland.
Carson McDowell raises money for a different local charity every year, having previously partnered with Belfast Samaritans, Cancer Fund for Children, Child Brain Injury Trust and PIPS.
In 2022, the firm raised £16,500 for Belfast Samaritans through a retro sports day, bake sales in Belfast and Dublin and Christmas-themed fundraising events including carolling and gift wrapping.
Catherine Carton, partner and chair of the firm’s CSR committee, said: “We are very excited to kick start our year-long alliance with Air Ambulance Northern Ireland and have a number of new fundraising events in the planning to raise valuable funds for them.
“Air Ambulance NI requires £5,500 each day and £2,000,000 each year to keep its air ambulance service operational and they rely entirely on support from the public and local businesses.
“The team at Carson McDowell will use their best endeavours over the coming 12 months to assist with funding the inimitable services provided by this extraordinary charity.”
Colleen Milligan, business development project manager at Air Ambulance Northern Ireland, said: “We are delighted to be working with Carson McDowell in 2023. The funds raised throughout the partnership will help our aircraft lift off and fly to critically ill and injured patients across Northern Ireland.
“On average, the air ambulance service is needed twice every day and the doctor and paramedic on board provide critical interventions at scene that can be the difference between life and death — they bring the hospital directly to the patient and this is only possible with continued support.
“We know Carson McDowell have a very talented team of staff and we are very excited to begin our partnership.”
