NI: Carson McDowell presents over £2,800 to PIPS Charity after year of fundraising
Belfast-based Carson McDowell presented a cheque for more than £2,800 to PIPS Charity after a year of fundraising for the charity.
The firm organised events including an Easter raffle and a bake-off to raise funds for its charity partner, which provides support to individuals who are considering, or have at some point considered, ending their own lives.
The total amount of £2,894.22 was presented by partner Jacqueline McAleese to the charity’s careteam assistant Chris Anderson.
Mr Anderson said: “PIPS Charity provides support to individuals who are considering, or who have at some point considered, ending their own lives or self-harming. PIPS also provide support for families and friends who have lost someone to suicide.
“The charity has a small team of staff and a wide range of volunteers supporting those in need while operating a ‘no appointment’ walk-in service. Our organisation is zero per cent government-funded, so all money is put towards keeping our doors open to provide life-saving services for those who need it most.”
