Charities Regulator to probe ISPCA over governance concerns
The Charities Regulator has appointed inspectors to carry out a statutory investigation into the Irish Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ISPCA).
The watchdog said “a number of concerns … in relation to governance at the ISPCA” were raised with it between March and June 2021.
“Having engaged with the charity on the concerns raised, the Charities Regulator has determined that a statutory investigation into the charity is warranted,” it said.
The Charities Regulator has appointed inspectors to investigate the affairs of the ISPCA and to prepare a report on their investigation and findings.
