Solicitor Ciarán Mulholland has been appointed to the criminal law committee of the International Bar Association (IBA).
Mr Mulholland is the founder and principal solicitor of Dundalk-based MulhollandLAW, a boutique firm specialising in criminal and civil litigation.
“I am delighted with my membership of the International Bar Association — a collective of the world’s leading lawyers and a voice for principled legal values in an ever-changing geopolitical context,” he told Irish Legal News.
“The rule of law, separation of powers and the promotion of international and humanitarian law must always be upheld unequivocally.
“Unfortunately with the unprecedented attacks on the International Criminal Court, it is of paramount importance for all lawyers to lobby for impartial global justice with independent due process.”
He added: “I look forward to my membership within the IBA’s criminal law committee as an Irish legal representative and the platform it offers learning and exchanging experiences with other colleagues in the sphere of criminal defence and human rights.
“I am looking forward to attending the IBA’s Annual Crime Conference in Chile this April.”
