Clyde & Co lawyer heads stateside through global exchange programme
Clyde & Co lawyer Bernadette Raleigh is to swap Dublin for New York City under the firm’s global exchange initiative.
The firm’s global associate programme (GAP) provides an opportunity for its lawyers to spend time in another office, to foster lasting relationships with international colleagues and solidify connections with contacts and clients outside of their usual jurisdiction.
Bernadette Raleigh, a Dublin-based senior associate, successfully applied for a place on this year’s programme and will be travelling to New York in mid-June.
She will work with the firm’s New York-based litigation team, based in the iconic Chrysler Building.
Ms Raleigh said: “The global associate programme offers a unique opportunity to share knowledge, experience and strategies with colleagues in a different jurisdiction.
“The New York office is home to some of the most experienced litigators in the US and I am delighted to have the opportunity to build immediate and lasting relationships with them. I am looking forward to exploring business development opportunities between our respective offices and experiencing work life in NYC.”
Sinead Connolly, partner at Clyde & Co in Dublin, said: “The global associate programme is a great platform for our lawyers to form long-term international relationships within the business and strengthen US/Irish relations.”
She added: “It’s an invaluable experience for Bernadette in joining the team in New York and one which I am sure will help nurture her progression as a legal professional. With more than 60 offices across five continents, Clyde & Co is a truly global firm where the tremendous strength of our worldwide network is a key driver of our success.”
Ms Raleigh is one of 50 lawyers to secure a place on this year’s exchange programme, with 18 Clyde & Co offices including Calgary, Dubai, Dusseldorf, Hong Kong, London, Miami, Shanghai and Singapore hosting associates.
