Conference to examine media coverage of gender-based violence
A one-day conference later this month is to examine media and cultural representations of gender-based violence.
The Centre for Crime, Justice & Victims Studies in the School of Law at the University of Limerick is hosting Words Matter: Promoting Best Practice in Media and Cultural Representations of Gender-Based Violence on 25 October.
The conference will include the launch of new guidance for media reporting on sexual violence created by Dr Susan Leahy, associate professor in law.
The guidance was created as part of an Irish Research Council funded project, which was completed in partnership with the Sexual Violence Centre Cork.
Details of the conference programme and registration can be found on the UL website. Attendance is free but registration is required.
