Conor Kennedy joins EY Law Ireland as head of tax strategy and disputes
EY Law Ireland has appointed barrister and former tax appeals commissioner Conor Kennedy as head of its tax strategy and disputes practice.
Mr Kennedy will provide EY clients with tax opinions on transactions and also advise on developing the optimum strategy to resolve Revenue-related queries.
His unique experience has provided him with a comprehensive understanding of the decision-making process and the importance of structuring opinions and submissions to provide decision-makers with the detail they require to rule in favour of taxpayers, EY said.
During his time at the Tax Appeals Commission, Mr Kennedy resolved tax disputes valued in excess of €2.5 billion.
He holds an advanced degree in statutory drafting, a barrister-at-law degree and a diploma in legal studies from the King’s Inns, together with an Master’s in taxation from Dublin City University. He is also a chartered tax advisor.
