Fighter Conor McGregor has raised eyebrows after appearing in court wearing an Adidas tracksuit and white runners after being issued with a speeding fine — before driving off in a high-powered BMW.

Mr McGregor appeared in Blanchardstown District Court after being slapped with a €400 speeding fine for allegedly exceeding the 100kmh limit on the N7 Naas Road at Rathcoole, Co Dublin last March.

His solicitor, Graham Kenny of Dublin-based Kenny Solicitors, told RTÉ Radio 1: “I don’t think anybody advises Conor on his clothing.

“He considers himself quite a stylish and dapper individual and that’s what he thought was appropriate for the day. It’s a little silly to focus on Conor’s attire in court or the perceived speed he drove off at.”

Mr Kenny added: “I’m no stranger to attending what would be considered high-profile trials but nothing like yesterday — that was exceptional. The worldwide media attention for a parking fine was rather humorous.”
