Cork solicitor launches new technology-focused firm
Cork solicitor Dean Cunningham has announced the launch of a new law firm aimed at bringing together expertise in IT, software, entrepreneurship and the law.
Mr Cunningham has over 10 years’ experience in the legal, technology and start-up sectors, and considers himself to have an entrepreneur’s eye for an opportunity coupled with a lawyer’s ability to assess and manage risk.
He previously served in an in-house role as lead of the EMEA software licensing compliance team at Dell Technologies and was a co-founder of IT consulting firm Blackrock Technologies.
Mr Cunningham told Irish Legal News: “It has always been an ambition of mine to start my own law firm and I genuinely believe that the firm can add tremendous value in terms of business and IT specific industry expertise to the legal market.”
The new firm, Cunningham Solicitors, offers a full spectrum of business law services including commercial and corporate law, IT law, IP law, trademark law and data protection law.
The firm is also aiming to help start-ups scale and navigate their legal challenges. “It gives me a real sense of satisfaction to be involved with early stage and emerging start-ups – knowing that I could be helping launch the next Facebook really excites me and motivates me,” Mr Cunningham said.
