Mason Hayes & Curran
Dublin firm Mason Hayes & Curran acted for Irish renewable energy company Gaelectric on the project financing Ballybay and Foyle wind farms, by AIB plc, for a total of €38 million.
The firm’s energy, utilities and projects team, headed up by partners William Carmody and Rory Kirrane, helped secure the funding.
The wind farms are both due to become operational during the second half of next year with substantial works completed on both projects in advance of financial close. The two wind farms will supply enough energy to power approximately 12,200 homes.

Belfast firm Carson McDowell acted for Cancer Research UK in the negotiation of the lease at Cityside Retail Park, Belfast for their first ever superstore in Ireland.
The 5,000 sq ft store is fitted out akin to a large discount retail outlet and includes a private “quiet room” where customers can pick up a phone and be connected directly to a Cancer Research counsellor.
Victoria O’Hara, associate in the firm’s retail team, said: “This was something new for retail and it is exciting to be involved in bringing a fresh idea to market for such a good cause. We wish the store every success.”
