  • Walkers acts as counsel to Dublin-based Airborne’s $637m securitisations

Walkers has acted as Ireland and Cayman Islands counsel to Airborne Capital securitisations worth $637 million.

The Tailwind 2019-1 and Tailwind 2019-1 USA asset-backed securitisations (ABSs) represent Dublin-based Airborne’s inaugural securitisations.

The firm’s Ireland team was led by partner David McGovern with assistance from of counsel Killian McSharry, senior associate Michael Caulfield and associate Arianna Marano.

  • William Fry advises Allanz Global Investors on €300m bond issuance

William Fry acted as Irish counsel to Allianz Global Investors in relation to Dublin Port Company’s €300 million issuance of unsecured structured fixed-rate bonds due 2049.

The bonds, issued on 19 December 2019, are listed on the Global Exchange Market of Euronext Dublin.

Lawyers in the London office of global law firm Ashurst advised on other aspects of the transaction.

  • DWF advises ‘energy efficiency as a service’ business on key transactions

DWF’s Dublin office played a leading role in advising an “energy efficiency as a service” business on various transactions including a key acquisition.

A team led by Ross Little, DWF’s head of corporate in Ireland, and Newcastle-based corporate partner Jeremy Swift advised eEnergy Group plc on the acquisition of e-Light Group Holdings Limited and associated fundraising, re-admission to AIM and the disposal of MetaLeach Limited.

The pair were supported by DWF colleagues in the UK and Ireland, including Jemil Visram, Edon Byrnes, Ruairi MacCumhaill, Andrea McGurn, Alison Martin, Eilidh Durkin, Siobhan Cameron, Katy Thomson, Ruairidh Morrison and Stephen Cairns.

Mr Little said: “We are delighted to have advised eEnergy Group on the acquisition of eLight and an associated fund raising and re-admission to AIM and the disposal of MetaLeach Limited. We look forward to supporting eEnergy deliver its ambitious growth strategy.”

Ronan Daly Jermyn has advised Wexford Insurances on its sale to Innovu.

Wexford Insurances is one of the country’s leading equestrian insurance brokerages.

Corporate partner Bryan McCarthy advised on the deal, assisted by Sarah Slevin in the corporate team, Peter Lennon in insurance, Brian Hunt in regulation, Michelle Ryan in employment and David Larkin in commercial property.

  • NI: Carson McDowell advises on planning application for Game of Thrones studio tour

Carson McDowell has advised John Hogg Operational during the planning application process of the new Game of Thrones studio tour in Banbridge.

One of the hit TV show’s key production sites, Linen Mill Studios, is expected to reopen as a tourist attraction in partnership with HBO.

John Hogg Operational owns the site and recently lodged planning applications for the £24 million attraction.

  • Ronan Daly Jermyn advises TradeIX on equity investment by Accenture

Ronan Daly Jermyn has advised TradeIX on an equity investment by Accenture.

Dublin-based TradeIX uses technology to facilitate the flow of goods, services, transactions and information within a secure environment for global trade.

The deal will see Accenture work with TradeIX to bring to the market new use cases, beyond banking, to address the needs of buyers and sellers within trade finance, the Irish Independent reports.

Corporate partner Bryan McCarthy advised on the deal with assistance from corporate solicitor Sarah Slevin.
