NI: Derry lawyer Karen O’Leary appointed to Legal Women editorial board
Derry solicitor Karen O’Leary has been appointed to the editorial board of Legal Women, a new quarterly magazine for women in the law.
Ms O’Leary heads up the family law practice at Caldwell & Robinson Solicitors, the Derry-based firm which expanded into Dublin last year.
Writing on Twitter, the magazine said it was “very pleased to have all four nations of the UK represented on our editorial board to create more momentum for change”.
Ms O’Leary is qualified to practice as a solicitor in Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and England and Wales, and is regularly consulted by government and state agencies on legal matters from other jurisdictions.
In 2011, she was invited to become a fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers (IAFL), an invitation-only organisation of leading global family lawyers.
A regular speaker on family law matters, she has previously addressed the Four Jurisdictions Family Law Conference and the European Family Justice Observatory, most recently speaking about the implications of Brexit on family law.
