Diarmuid Phelan trial delayed until October

The trial of barrister Diarmuid Phelan, who is charged with the murder of a man in Tallaght, Co Dublin, has been delayed until the autumn.

Mr Phelan, 54, a senior counsel and law professor, is accused of murdering Keith Conlon, 36, who died in hospital two days after being shot at Hazelgrove Farm, Kiltalown Lane, Tallaght two years ago, on February 22 2022.

Mr Phelan is the owner of the farm.

The initial trial date was set for yesterday but, when the case called, Ms Justice Siobhan Lankford was told it could not yet proceed. She agreed to adjourn the case pending another report to deal with certain issues.

The trial has been listed for October 7.
