Dr John Stannard to deliver Trinity talk on law and emotion
Dr John Stannard will deliver a talk on law and emotion as part of the Trinity College Law Review’s Distinguished Speaker series later this month.
The free event, taking place in Regent House on Friday 20 October, 6pm, is expected to draw interest from the wider legal and philosophical communities in Ireland.
Dr Stannard is an Oxford graduate who has spent most of his working life in the faculty of Queen’s University Belfast. His main research interest is in law and emotions, but he has also published extensively in other areas.
He is a member of the Society of Legal Scholars, a Fellow of the Institute of Teaching and Learning, and a past president and lifetime honorary member of the Irish Association of Law Teachers.
He was recognised in 2022 with a lifetime achievement award from Queen’s University Belfast and was awarded the OBE in 2023 for services to legal education.
