Draft regulations for legal partnerships published
The Legal Services Regulatory Authority (LSRA) has published the draft regulations for legal partnerships.
The regulatory framework for legal partnerships, a new business structure for the delivery of legal services, is to be introduced in the coming months.
Legal partnerships can be either solicitor-barrister or barrister-only and must include at least one practising barrister.
The draft regulations are not yet law and may be changed before coming into force in autumn 2024.
The LSRA has also published an FAQs document with information on the rules and obligations for solicitors and barristers who may be interested in establishing legal partnerships.
