Emily Logan to speak at IWLA annual gala dinner
Emily Logan, the chief commissioner of the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission (IHREC), will deliver a keynote speech at the Irish Women Lawyers’ Association (IWLA)’s annual gala dinner this weekend.
Ms Logan recently headed the IHREC delegation to the United Nations Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights in Geneva, where she presented the Commission’s assessment on the State’s compliance with the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights.
The dinner will also be attended by the joint-winers of the IWLA “Woman of the Year” award.
This year, they are Mary O’Toole SC and Muriel Walls, who spearheaded the Lawyers for Yes campaign ahead of Ireland’s same-sex marriage referendum.
The dinner will be held at 8pm on 24th October 2015 in the Presidents’ Hall, Law Society of Ireland, with a drinks reception at 7pm in the Members Lounge.
Tickets are available for purchase via EventBrite.
