Fieldfisher sees half-year revenue increase 12 per cent
European law firm Fieldfisher has seen its half-year revenue increase by 12 per cent, buoyed by the launch of its new Dublin office in May.
McDowell Purcell merged with Fieldfisher in May 2019, completing “the last piece” of the European firm’s international growth strategy.
JP McDowell, managing partner of McDowell Purcell, remains managing partner of the rebranded Fieldfisher Ireland.
Fieldfisher has also had a presence in Belfast since late 2017, when it merged with Holywood-based Donaldson Legal Consulting (DLC).
The firm’s revenue increased to £129 million in the first six months of 2019/2020, with its Paris office enjoying a particularly strong half-year thanks to high levels of corporate activity and expansion into new practice areas.
Managing partner Michael Chissick said: “I am extremely pleased with the firm’s continued growth in what are difficult times for the legal market amid Brexit-related and wider political and economic uncertainty.”
He added: “I am particularly encouraged by the rising interest in the services offered by our Belfast Hub, which we are doubling in size, and our alternative service offerings.
“The addition of our new Dublin office in May has also greatly strengthened our offer as a European law firm, particularly in our regulatory offering and our financial services and energy and natural resources sectors.
“I am confident that the second half of this financial year will be another strong period for the business.”
