Mr O’Connor, who has been appointed as partner in the firm’s global regulatory practice, joins from Walkers, where he served as head of regulatory for Ireland.

He will work closely with antitrust and competition partner Christopher Hutton, who initially led the Dublin office following its launch in March this year. The new office will initially focus on financial regulatory and antitrust/competition law advice.

Mr O’Connor trained and practised as a solicitor in Arthur Cox and went on to build a successful financial regulatory practice at Walkers, where he advised key clients on the expansion of the Irish financial services sector following the Brexit vote.
