Free event to compare international arbitration in Ireland and New York
A free online event this evening will compare the legal frameworks for international arbitration in Ireland and New York.
The webinar, taking place at 6pm Irish time, is being jointly hosted by the Law Society of Ireland, the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA) and the Irish American Bar Association of New York.
Panellists include Karen Killoran, partner at Arthur Cox in Dublin; Dana MacGrath, an arbitrator based in New York and president of Arbitral Women; Michael Carrigan, an arbitrator and an expert witness based in Dublin; and Eoin Moynihan, an international arbitration practitioner from Ireland who is now based in the US.
The event will be moderated by New York lawyer Edward K. Lenci, a partner at Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, an arbitrator, and immediate past chair of the NYSBA international section.
The panel’s discussion is expected to touch on key procedural aspects of arbitrations seated in the Ireland and New York, aspects of each jurisdiction’s arbitral law, typical approaches to discovery/disclosure in each jurisdiction and issues relating to the enforcement of arbitral awards in Ireland and New York.
