Galway students win ECHR moot at DCU
Students from the University of Galway have won an ECHR competition held at Dublin City University.
Judges for the final, held on February 21, included a past competitor of the Helga Pederson international moot, Niko Kawonczyk, as well as organisers of the final round of the Helga Pederson moot court competition 2024, Ama Kurrupuarachchi and solicitor Ciara Ramsbottom.
ELSA DCU is the DCU Branch of the European Law Students’ Association Ireland. The organisation of ELSA is based in 43 countries, 430 universities making up over 70,000 members across Europe.
ELSA DCU places a special emphasis on human rights, with its participation in ELSA Day in November, in which the society held a fundraiser for the Malala foundation. The ECHR competition provides experience to DCU teams who intend to compete in the Helga Perderson next year
