NI: House price growth in Northern Ireland faster than any other part of the UK

House prices in Northern Ireland grew further in the first quarter of the year than any other part of the UK, according to a new house price survey.
Northern Ireland house prices increased by 3.3 per cent between January and March 2019 compared to the same period in 2018, according to Nationwide Building Society.
Robert Gardner, Nationwide’s chief economist, said that meant Northern Ireland “remained the strongest performing home nation in Q1”.
However, annual price growth had “softened” from 5.8 per cent in the last quarter, he added.
Across the whole UK, annual house price growth was just 0.7 per cent, according to the bank’s report.
