NI: Human rights chief Les Allamby reappointed for two years
The head of the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission (NIHRC) has been reappointed for a further two-year term starting in September 2019.
Les Allamby has been the human rights watchdog’s chief commissioner since 2014, when he was appointed for an initial five-year term.
He is a solicitor and former director of the Law Centre (NI), as well as an honorary professor of law at Ulster University.
His reappointment was announced by Northern Ireland Secretary Karen Bradley yesterday afternoon.
