#InPictures: Comhshaol brings climate conversation to Disputes Week
Environmental disputes were put under the spotlight at an event held yesterday as part of Dublin International Disputes Week 2024.
The panel discussion, entitled “Comprehensive Resolution of Environmental Disputes – Is a Multi-Dimensional Approach Required?”, was hosted at The Bar of Ireland’s Distillery Building and was presented by Comhshaol, the Climate Bar Association.
Judge Mark McGarrity, of the County Court in Northern Ireland, joined a panel including Gavin Rothwell BL, Tughans of counsel Maria O’Loan, Donnchadh Woulfe BL and Tom Flynn SC.
The panel explored whether a multi-dimensional approach is key to resolving environmental disputes effectively.
The Bar’s Natural Justice website includes more information on the role the legal profession can play in the climate conversation.
