#InPictures: Domestic violence book named year’s best
A new book on domestic violence law and practice has been named Ireland’s law book of the year.
Domestic Violence: Law and Practice in Ireland, by practising lawyers Sonya Dixon and Keith Walsh, scooped the award at the Dye & Durham Irish Law Awards 2024 last week.
Published by Bloomsbury in February, the book delves extensively into the Domestic Violence Act 2018, providing an overview of the Act and critical analysis of all measures and procedural developments, including new crimes of forced marriage and coercive control.
It also explores the related criminal legislation concerning victims of crime and other criminal legislation dealing with related offences.
