Attorney General Rossa Fanning SC was welcomed to William Fry’s offices this week to deliver a keynote address on Ireland’s implementation of the EU digital reform package and the government’s work to combat hateful content online.
Mr Fanning’s speech was followed by a fireside chat moderated by William Fry’s partner and head of technology Leo Moore with Coimisiún na Meán’s commissioner for online safety Niamh Hodnett and commissioner for digital services John Evans.

The commissioners discussed and responded to questions on the Coimisiún’s regulatory approach to enforcing the EU Digital Services Act and the Online Safety and Media Regulation Act 2022, and its plans for regulation for digital services and platforms.
