European IP firm Keltie has expanded its Dublin team by appointing Tasneem Madani and Catherine Jennings as senior associates.

Ms Madani joins Keltie after gaining extensive experience advising start-ups and SMEs on all aspects of IP. In her previous role, she advised one of the world’s largest multinational tech companies on a number of complex cross-jurisdictional conflicts, which involved negotiating settlement terms and filing EU and UK opposition and invalidity proceedings.

A graduate of University College Dublin, she joined one of Ireland’s leading specialist IP firms and qualified as an Irish and European Trade Mark and Design Attorney in 2017. She holds a distinction from BPP University’s Legal Practice Course and recently completed the EUIPO’s Trade Mark and Design Education Programme for Practitioners. Ms Madani is also an active member of the Irish Association of Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys (APTMA), serving on its trade mark law and practice committee.

Ms Jennings has a strong track record in contentious and non-contentious matters, and brings wide experience in managing the filing, prosecution and maintenance of complex and diverse intellectual property portfolios worldwide. In 2018, she was selected by Trinity College Dublin during her LLM programme to represent Ireland as a Pan European Seal trainee at the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). After graduating from TCD, she went on to work with two of the leading specialist IP firms in Ireland, where she completed her training and developed her expertise.

Sean Cummings, partner of Keltie LLP and director of Keltie’s Irish practice, said: “We are delighted to continue Keltie’s growth in Ireland by welcoming Tasneem and Ms Jennings to our thriving European IP practice. They have added their skills and experience to our renowned trade mark team which now comprises twelve qualified trade mark attorneys acting before the EUIPO, IPOI and UKIPO, four of whom are based in Ireland.”
