Trainee solicitors at the Institute of Professional Legal Studies (IPLS) at Queen’s University Belfast ranked third in this year’s UK Universities Mediation Competition at Jersey Law Institute.

The team, coached by Barbara Jemphrey, was made up of Tughans’ Eamonn Cunningham; DR Brewster’s Joshua McKee; Pinsent Masons’ Meghan Kirk; and John McKee & Son’s Robyn Butler.

Mr Cunningham won the individual prize for the best overall party to a mediation and Ms Kirk was placed fourth overall party to a mediation.

A spokesperson for the IPLS said it was “a fantastic achievement by all team members and reflects the hard work of all the team in the months leading up to the competition”.
