Irish lawyer Niamh McMahon moves to Caymans firm
Irish lawyer Niamh McMahon has taken up a new role with Caymans firm Nelsons after calling to the islands’ bar.
Ms McMahon, a specialist in insurance defence litigation, practised as a solicitor in Ireland for over six years, latterly at DAC Beachcroft, before joining Nelsons. She is also admitted to the courts of England and Wales.
She has represented insurance companies on a wide variety of claims, including personal injury, professional negligence, property damage and employment disputes. She has also represented claimants in personal injury actions and advised clients in relation to general civil litigation matters.
Unlike most common law jurisdictions, the Cayman Islands has a fused legal profession. Having called to the islands’ bar in June, Ms McMahon has unrestricted rights of audience before the Cayman courts.
