The Bar of Ireland stated: “James’ work with IRLI, and in particular the projects across the African Continent, and before that South East Asia, was hugely regarded and impactful.

“James was pivotal in establishing and driving momentum with our Afghan Judicial Support Appeal. His compassion, pragmatism and decency was always refreshing and set a standard for those involved.

“Our sincere condolences to his family, colleagues and friends. May he rest in peace.”

Reposing at Fanagans Funeral Home, Aungier Street on Sunday, 25th August, from 3pm to 5pm. Mr Douglas’ Funeral service will take place at St. Stephen’s Green Unitarian Church Dublin on Monday, 26th August, at 11am (which can be viewed via this Webstream), followed by cremation at Mount Jerome, Victorian Chapel, Harold’s Cross.
