NI: John P. Shearer
Retired lawyer and judge John P. Shearer has passed away, the Law Society of Northern Ireland has said.
Mr Shearer, originally from Glasgow, was admitted to the roll of solicitors in Northern Ireland in 1954.
He took over the Cookstown practice of S.J. Millar & Shearer, which later became Millar Shearer & Black.
Mr Shearer later served as coroner for Mid Ulster and as a deputy district judge.
His funeral service will be held today at 2nd Moneymore Presbyterian Church at 2.30pm.
The Law Society has extended its deepest condolences to Mr Shearer’s family, friends and former colleagues.
