NI: Judge Geoffrey Miller QC appointed to judicial appointments commission
Judge Geoffrey Miller QC has been appointed as County Court commissioner in the Northern Ireland Judicial Appointments Commission (NIJAC).
He was appointed by First Minister Arlene Foster and deputy First Minister Michelle O’Neill for a five-year term until 11 August 2025.
Judge Miller was appointed as a County Court judge in 2009. A graduate of Queen’s University Belfast, he called to the Bar in 1983 and took silk in 2006. He qualified as a barrister south of the border in 1996.
His judicial career began with his appointment as a deputy resident magistrate in 2002, being elevated to a deputy district judge in the magistrates’ courts in 2008 until his appointment to the County Court bench.
