Judge John O’Hagan
Tributes have been paid to retired Circuit Court judge John O’Hagan SC, who passed away on Saturday at the age of 76.
First appointed as an unassigned judge in the late 1990s, Judge O’Hagan was appointed to the Northern Circuit in 2006 and remained there until his retirement in 2017.
His late father, Judge Desmond O’Hagan, was a well-known District Court judge.
Joe Smyth, the county registrar for Co Cavan, led tributes in Cavan Circuit Court yesterday morning, where a minute’s silence was observed.
According to rip.ie, Judge O’Hagan will repose at home today, Tuesday 26 March, from 4pm to 7pm. His funeral mass will take place tomorrow, Wednesday 27 March, 11am, at Star of the Sea Church in Mornington, Co Meath, followed by cremation.
