NI: Judicial reviews of court closures to go ahead

Judicial reviews of three planned court closures will proceed to a full hearing at the end of October, the High Court has ruled.
Mr Justice Horner granted leave to seek a judicial review in all three applications.
The decision to shut Strabane Court House is being challenged by solicitor firm John Fahy & Co., while two women have separately brought cases to prevent the closure of Ballymena and Lisburn.
Mr Justice Horner said there was a “significant public interest element” in allowing the cases to go ahead.
He also decided that the Strabane closure should be the lead case.
