KOD Lyons launches guide for families with additional schooling needs

Dublin firm KOD Lyons has launched a new Back to School guide for families with children with additional schooling needs.

Gareth Noble, partner at KOD Lyons and head of the firm’s children’s law department, launched the guide in conjunction with advocacy group DCA Warriors in Kilkenny yesterday.

Mr Noble told Irish Legal News: “Going back to school presents many opportunities but also challenges for many families.

“The purpose of this guide is to assist families navigate through the range of supports in the education system for children with an additional need.

“These include important issues such as the provision of Special Needs Assistants, reasonable accommodations for state exams, Assistive Technology and School Transport measures.

“We are supported in this project by the DCA Warriors, an online advocacy group with a membership of over 10,000 members.”
