NI: Law firms recognised at Dealmaker of the Year Awards
Law firms Tughans, Millar McCall Wylie and A&L Goodbody (ALG) were among the top winners at Insider’s Northern Ireland Dealmakers Awards.
Tughans partner John McGuckian was named Dealmaker of the Year and his firm advised on three of the recognised deals.
ALG associate Catherine Irvine was named Emerging Dealmaker of the Year and her firm advised on three winning deals.
Alastair Keith, partner and head of corporate at ALG in Belfast, said: “ALG once again had a standout deal making year in 2019.
“These four awards are well-deserved recognition for our industry-leading team and the key role they continue to play in advising on a wide portfolio of complex international and local deals in Northern Ireland.
“In particular, we congratulate Catherine on being named ‘Emerging Dealmaker of the Year’ – a fitting accolade for a member of our team who exemplifies ALG’s values, combining outstanding technical ability, strong commercial focus and high-quality service to which our clients are accustomed.”
Millar McCall Wylie LLP was crowned corporate law firm of the year for the first time and was the lead advisor on one of the winning deals.
Partner Damian McParland said: “As a team, we always strive to get the very best results for our clients, building strong relationships to achieve successful outcomes.
“We have ambitious clients, such as Learning Pool, Kanisi and RETiniZE, many within the technology and digital space, and we are proud to help them on their very successful journey.”
Carson McDowell, Shoosmiths and Mills Selig were also recognised for advising on deals recognised at the awards.
