Lecture tonight to focus on drugs and criminal justice in the UK
The annual Scarman lecture hosted by the School of Criminology at the University of Leicester will tonight focus on drugs and criminal justice in the UK in 2021.
Sue McAllister CB, the former head of the Northern Ireland Prison Service and now the prisons and probation ombudsman for England and Wales, will join Thames Valley Police chief inspector Jason Kew for the panel discussion.
The speakers will address the critical questions of how and if criminal justice systems should respond to substance use, and the efficacy of its interventions.
The free event will take place at 5pm today via Microsoft Teams. Registration is open via Eventbrite and an invite will be sent shortly before the lecture takes place.
