Linda Hynes, partner at Lewis Silkin Ireland, has been appointed as chair of the Employment Law Association of Ireland (ELAI).

Ms Hynes, a partner in the employment, immigration and reward division of Lewis Silkin’s Dublin office, will oversee the work of ELAI, which includes liaising with stakeholders such as the Workplace Relations Commission and the Labour Court on matters relating to employment law in Ireland.

She will also support the ELAI committee in raising awareness of employment law issues and developments among practitioners across the country, in addition to representing ELAI internationally and liaising with international employment law associations.

Ms Hynes succeeds outgoing chair Anne Lyne and will be supported on the committee by Julie Galbraith as deputy chair, Alice Duffy as secretary and Ciarán Ahern as treasurer.

Commenting on her appointment, Ms Hynes said: “I am honoured to have been appointed by the Employment Law Association of Ireland as its new chair.

“I look forward to progressing ELAI’s key priorities in 2022 – promoting the exchange of ideas and information among our members and encouraging positive collaboration within the employment law sector in Ireland, particularly as we continue to navigate a new world of work post-pandemic.”
