LK Shields promotes IP and tech lawyer Jane O’Grady to partner
LK Shields has promoted Jane O’Grady to partner in the firm’s newly-rebranded technology and innovation team.
Ms O’Grady trained as a solicitor with LK Shields and went on to spend time in a major Dublin firm before re-joining in 2018 as an associate in the firm’s intellectual property, technology and data privacy team.
She has extensive experience acting for businesses on high-value, complex contracts including cross-border agreements. She works closely with domestic and multinational clients across multiple sectors to deliver commercially focused solutions in their contractual arrangements.
Her work covers drafting and negotiating outsourcing agreements, software licences, service-level agreements, website and app terms of use and end-user licence agreements.
She also has expertise advising on a broad range of other commercial agreements including advising on distribution and supply agreements, and consultancy agreements for major pharmaceutical companies.
Ms O’Grady regularly advises clients on protection, commercialisation and infringement of intellectual property. She also advises on all aspects of privacy law including GDPR compliance projects, data subject access requests and cross-border transfers of personal data.
Richard Curran, managing partner at LK Shields, said: “We are delighted to announce Jane’s promotion to the partnership of the firm. Through her exceptional legal acumen and commitment to client service, Jane embodies the ethos of LK Shields.
“In her new role within the newly rebranded technology and innovation team we are confident that Jane will continue to thrive professionally and contribute significantly to the continued growth of the firm.”
He added that the “strategic rebranding” of the team “reflects our commitment to remaining at the vanguard of legal innovation and being agile in responding to our clients’ needs”.
“The technology and innovation team will continue to provide first-rate intellectual property and data privacy support as part of a broader offering that reflects the evolution of the Irish economy in recent years,” he said.
