Man arrested following investigation into fake law firm
A man has been arrested following an investigation into a suspected fake law firm, according to reports.
David McHugh, 63, was arrested by officers from the Garda National Economic Crime Bureau (GNECB) on Tuesday morning on suspicion of various deception offences, The Herald reports.
Mr McHugh has not been charged and was transferred from a Garda station to Naas General Hospital after complaining of chest pains, according to the newspaper.
The Garda investigation was launched last year after the Law Society of Ireland raised concerns about a fake law firm called “THL Legal” which allegedly offered to act for people in immigration cases.
