Maples and Calder appoints Aidan Kenny to new innovation post
Maples and Calder (Ireland) LLP, the Maples Group’s law firm in Ireland, has appointed Aidan Kenny to the newly-created role of head of innovation.
Based in Dublin, Mr Kenny will lead the development and implementation of innovative strategies to evolve existing business models, enhance client experiences and drive growth across the firm’s practice areas.
His appointment follows the firm’s recent roll-out of generative AI technology following a nearly two-year pilot.
With an initial focus on enhancing the firm’s full-service offering in Dublin, Mr Kenny will also spearhead the firm’s Innovation Hub, which will see him working collaboratively with both lawyers and clients to navigate and adopt fast-developing AI technology and tools to ensure that the firm is at the forefront of innovation developments in the legal industry.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr Kenny held innovation leadership positions with Fidelity Investments, one of the largest asset managers in the world, serving as managing director and senior vice-president in its Irish and Boston offices. He led the Fidelity Centre for Applied Technology in Europe and was managing director at Fidelity Labs.
Before that, Mr Kenny led a service innovation consultancy business and was a start-up founder.
Peter Stapleton, Maples’ Ireland managing partner, said: “Innovative thinking is one of our core Maples Group values, and we pride ourselves on delivering both market-leading and innovative services and solutions to our clients across our key markets.
“We are delighted to have Aidan on board, and I look forward to working closely with him as we continue to evolve our innovation strategy.”
Mr Kenny added: “It’s certainly an exciting time to join the Maples Group and I look forward to building on the firm’s existing innovative strategies to enhance the way legal services are delivered to our clients. I am passionate about finding new ways to serve our clients’ needs and I am delighted to join a firm that is truly dedicated to innovation.”
