Business law firm Mason Hayes & Curran has launched a new analysis of trends and regulatory shifts in the EU’s digital health sector over the past six months.

The Mid-Year Digital Health Guide focuses on critical developments that are shaping digital health in 2024 and lays the groundwork for what’s to come later in the year.

AI is a key area of focus. The publication provides a timeline for compliance with the AI Act for medical devices and examines the legal risks of using AI chat-bots in healthcare.

The guide also examines the proposed amendments to the EU product liability regime, and the impact of these changes on digital health products and services.

Michaela Herron, head of life sciences at Mason Hayes & Curran, said: “The EU digital health space has seen significant regulatory activity in the past six months.

“Our Mid-Year Digital Health Guide provides timely insights into these developments and their implications for global businesses.”

James Gallagher, products partner, added: “The guide serves as a valuable resource for legal and industry professionals, offering clarity amidst the complexities of technological advancements and legislative change.”
