Mason Hayes & Curran sweeps Managing IP Awards 2023
Business law firm Mason Hayes & Curran has brought home three awards from the Managing IP EMEA Awards 2023 in London.
The firm was named Ireland’s copyright and design firm of the year and trademark prosecution firm of the year, while partner and head of IP Gerard Kelly was named Ireland’s practitioner of the year.
Accepting the awards, Mr Kelly said: “We continue to be recognised for our extensive IP work and the important and high-profile matters on which we are instructed in the Irish market. It also highlights the diverse range of work that we do for our clients on both a contentious and non-contentious level.
“This year, I am delighted to announce that we have won the trademark prosecution award for Ireland having being named ‘Ireland trademark contentious firm of the year’ last year. This really is a testament to the strength of all areas of our trade mark practice.
“Our retention of the copyright and esign award for Ireland is equally indicative of the team’s strengths in those areas. On a personal level, I am also delighted to have received the ‘Ireland IP practitioner of the year’ award.
“Thank you to our clients and colleagues for this recognition in what is a very rewarding area of practice.”
Other winners on the night included Whitney Moore, which was named Ireland’s patent disputes firm of the year; William Fry, trade mark disputes firm of the year; PurdyLucey, patent prosecution firm of the year; and Arthur Cox, IP transactions firm of the year.
Olivia Mullooly, partner and head of IP at Arthur Cox, said: “The team and I are delighted to once again receive this recognition from Managing IP. Building on last year’s success, this award reflects the continuing dedication of the team in delivering strategic and transformative intellectual property advices and support for our clients over the last year.”
