Mason Hayes & Curran has announced the appointment of two new financial services partners, Barry Walsh and Ronan Armstrong.

Mr Walsh advises institutional and private clients on a wide range of domestic and cross border finance transactions including secured and unsecured lending, property finance and project finance, with a focus on projects in the renewable energy sector.

He also has extensive experience in dealing with multi-jurisdictional finance transactions and regularly advises foreign corporates and lenders on Irish banking and financial services law. He was previously a senior associate with the firm.

Mr Armstrong, based in London, has a wide range of experience advising financial institutions, funds, corporate clients and sponsors on corporate banking deals including restructurings and work-outs, with a particular focus on leveraged finance and funds lending. He previously worked in banking teams at leading international law firms in London.

Christine O’Donovan, head of financial services, said: “We are delighted to have Barry and Ronan join the partnership. We are one of the largest and most dynamic banking and financial services teams advising on Irish law. Barry and Ronan’s appointment will enhance and expand the depth of our resources available to regulated credit institutions, non-bank lenders and borrowers, made up of national and international finance providers, doing business in Ireland.”

Mr Walsh said: “I work collaboratively with clients so I can provide strategically informed advice, which is part of the firm’s on-going commitment to contributing in a valuable way to our clients’ objectives.”

Mr Armstrong added: “I am excited to return to Irish practice and join a progressive firm like Mason Hayes & Curran. Using my extensive international experience to help clients achieve the best outcomes, I hope to contribute to the firm’s continued growth.”
