Matheson is advising Irish-domiciled funds with total assets under management of more than $1.33 trillion, according to a new report.

The firm’s asset management and investment funds department has been ranked in the latest Monterey Insight Ireland Fund Report as Ireland’s leading practice by assets under management (AUM) for the 14th year in a row.

Matheson had a 28 per cent market share for Irish-domiciled funds based on AUM, and a 27 per cent market share for combined domiciled and non-domiciled funds based on AUM.

The firm now advises Irish-domiciled funds with assets exceeding $1.33 trillion, with a growth in AUM advised by Matheson of almost $327 billion, representing a 33 per cent increase.

Tara Doyle, partner and head of Matheson’s asset management and investment funds department, said: “Matheson is delighted to be named by Monterey as the leading law firm in Ireland by assets under management for the 14th consecutive year.

“Matheson was also ranked first for funds transferred from other law firms during the year.

“These achievements have been made possible by the confidence our clients have placed in Ireland as a funds domicile and the investment we have made in our people, who remain our greatest asset.

“We are pleased to see the Irish funds industry continues on its growth trajectory, with overall assets in the Irish-domiciled funds industry increasing by 15.9 per cent in US$ value and growth of 2.8 per cent in the number of Irish-domiciled funds.”

Matheson has over 70 fund professionals in its asset management and investment funds department, led by 13 partners.
