Matheson and DWF lawyers recognised at European Legal Awards 2023
Matheson partner Garret Farrelly and DWF Belfast partner Olivia O’Kane were among lawyers recognised at the 2023 European Legal Awards in Paris this week.
Mr Farrelly, partner and head of both Matheson’s energy and natural resources group and projects and infrastructure group, was recognised in the energy law category. The judges noted in particular his contribution to evolving ESG regulation, making him “one of the leading authorities in the matter”.
Ms O’Kane, partner in the media law team at DWF Belfast, was recognised in the media and entertainment law category. The judges said her “prowess in commercial litigation is remarkable, but her role as a media and entertainments law specialist is outstanding”.
Now in their fourth year, the European Legal Awards were created to promote excellence and knowledge through teaching, research, and pro-active networking.
Other winners on the night included Matthew Jury and Jason McCue, whose London firm McCue Jury & Partners has represented victims of the Provisional IRA in high-profile UK litigation. Both were recognised in the human rights category.
