Matheson launches multi-disciplinary digital legal services group
Matheson has announced the launch of a multi-disciplinary Digital Services Group tasked with deploying advanced digital technology and agile processes on complex and large-scale legal matters.
The new group is led by Tom Connor and consists of 17 professionals, including lawyers, AI software developers, legal solutions consultants and architects, project managers, document automation specialists and business analysts.
Its establishment has been driven by significant advances in legal tech and in response to the evolving needs of the firm’s clients in areas of large-volume legal work.
Mr Connor said: “Technology continues to disrupt business models and digital has changed everything – the legal sector is not immune. The use of current and emerging technologies such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence and intelligent automation are transforming the legal sector – and the ways in which we can now deliver legal services.”
He said the new group “provides us with the right talent, diverse expertise and the platform in order to be at the fore of the new digital legal economy moving forward”.
Managing partner Michael Jackson added: “As an internationally focused law firm with six global offices, we recognise that our clients’ needs and expectations are continuously changing.
“The establishment of the Matheson Digital Services Group reflects both these changing client needs and our commitment to a collaborative approach that is client-focused by combining innovative people, processes and technologies to help solve problems and carry out legal work more effectively and efficiently.
“We are confident that by combining our digital services offering with our traditional services and our deep understanding of our clients’ businesses, we will continue to be the law firm of choice for internationally focused companies and financial institutions doing business in and from Ireland.”
